If your eSIM is stuck on “Activating” or displays an “Activation Failure” message, don’t worry—your eSIM is fully installed. This issue is common when you install an eSIM before arriving at your destination. The activation process will complete once you are within the supported network coverage area.
Why Is My eSIM Stuck on Activating?
• You haven’t arrived at your destination yet. The eSIM will finalize activation when it connects to the appropriate network.
• Your device is trying to connect to a network that is not available in your current location.
• In rare cases, there may be a temporary network issue with the carrier.
How to Confirm Your eSIM is Installed
Even if your eSIM displays “Activating,” you can verify that it is installed correctly:
1. Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data.
2. Locate your eSIM under Cellular Plans.
3. If the eSIM appears but is stuck activating, it means the installation was successful.
What Happens Next?
• If you’re still in your home country or outside the coverage area, your eSIM will remain in “Activating” mode.
• Once you arrive at your destination, the eSIM should automatically activate as soon as your device connects to a supported network.
Troubleshooting Steps (If It Doesn’t Activate)
If your eSIM does not activate after arriving at your destination:
• Turn Airplane Mode ON and OFF to refresh network connections.
• Restart your device.
• Manually select a network by going to Settings > Cellular > Network Selection > Disable “Automatic” and choose a supported carrier.
• Enable Data Roaming under Settings > Cellular > Select your eSIM > Toggle Data Roaming ON.
Once the network connection is established, your eSIM should activate, and you’ll be able to use data immediately.
