If your iPhone and eSIM support 5G but you don’t see it in the status bar, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check 5G Availability
• Make sure you’re in an area with 5G coverage.
• Ensure your encryptSIM eSIM supports 5G.
• Only iPhone 12 models or later are compatible with 5G networks.
Verify Your 5G Settings
1. Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
2. Select your encryptSIM eSIM.
3. Tap Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data.
4. If 5G On or 5G Auto is available, your device supports 5G. If these options aren’t shown, the network may not support 5G in your location.
Reconnect to the Network
• Turn on Airplane Mode, wait a few seconds, then turn it off.
• Restart your iPhone to refresh network settings.
Other Considerations
• 5G coverage depends on local carrier infrastructure. Some areas may only support LTE.
• Being too far from a 5G tower may cause speeds to drop to 4G/LTE.
