Not all iPhones and iPads support eSIM, as compatibility depends on the device model and where it was manufactured. Additionally, some carriers disable eSIM functionality on devices they sell. To ensure that your iPhone or iPad can use encryptSIM, follow the steps below to verify eSIM compatibility.
1. Find Your Model Number:
• Open Settings, then tap General.
• Tap About.
• Tap the Model Number until it changes to an AXXXX format.
• Compare your model number with Apple’s list of eSIM-supported devices.
• If your device is a model sold in China, Hong Kong, or Macao, it may not support eSIM.
2. Check if Your iPhone is Carrier-Unlocked:
• Open Settings, then tap General.
• Tap About.
• Scroll down to Carrier Lock.
• If it says “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked and can use any eSIM.
• If there is a restriction, your carrier may have locked the device to physical SIM use only.
1. Find Your iPad’s Model Number:
• Open Settings, then tap General.
• Tap About.
• Tap the Model Number until it changes to an AXXXX format.
• Compare your model number with Apple’s list of eSIM-supported devices.
2. Ensure Your iPad Supports Cellular Data:
• Only iPads with cellular capability support eSIM. Wi-Fi-only iPads do not support eSIM, even if they are the same model series.
If you’re uncertain about your device’s eSIM capability, check with Apple, your device vendor, or your carrier for confirmation. If your device meets all compatibility requirements, you’re ready to install and activate encryptSIM.
