How to Install an eSIM Directly on Your iOS Device

Not all iPhones and iPads support eSIMs, so it’s important to verify compatibility before starting. Your device must be both eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. You’ll also need a stable internet connection during installation—preferably Wi-Fi.

Once confirmed, you can install your encryptSIM directly on your iOS device. No app is required—just access your account through a browser.

Step 1: Begin Installation

Log into your encryptSIM account, go to My eSIMs, select the eSIM you want to install, then tap Install eSIM / Access Data. Choose the Direct Install option and follow the on-screen prompts. When prompted, tap Continue through the steps until your device begins activating the eSIM. Wait a few moments for the activation to complete, then tap Done.

Step 2: Label and Assign Your eSIM

After installation, assign a label to your eSIM to make it easy to identify. When prompted, choose a label like “encryptSIM” or “Data.” Tap Continue. For calls, iMessage, and FaceTime, choose your Primary SIM. When asked which SIM to use for Cellular Data, select your newly installed encryptSIM. Make sure “Allow Cellular Data Switching” is toggled off to avoid accidental charges on your primary line. Tap Continue.

Step 3: Enable Data & Roaming

Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile > tap your encryptSIM. Ensure the line is turned on. Toggle Data Roaming to ON if required—this is often necessary for international plans. Then go back to the Cellular/Mobile settings and select encryptSIM as your default data line.

Your encryptSIM is now installed and ready for use. If you run into any issues, check your APN settings in the installation page, or reach out to our support team—we’re here to help.
