Not all Android devices are created equal when it comes to eSIM support. Even if a device model is listed as eSIM-compatible, variations based on region or carrier customization may impact functionality. Manufacturers and mobile networks can disable eSIM features at the software level—especially in markets with strict telecom regulations.
Before you purchase or install an encryptSIM, follow these steps to confirm if your Android device supports eSIMs.
Open Settings and tap Connections. Tap SIM Manager. If you see an option for Add eSIM, your device likely supports eSIMs.
Note: Some Samsung devices may require the latest software update to show this option.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet. Tap the + icon next to SIMs. If you see the message Download a SIM instead?, your Pixel is eSIM-capable.
Dial *#06# and press the call button. If your device is eSIM-compatible, you should see an EID (Embedded Identity Document) number—this is your device’s unique eSIM identifier.
