Keep your primary number for calls and texts

Use your primary SIM for calls and text messages while selecting your encryptSIM eSIM for mobile data on a dual-SIM phone.

On a compatible dual-SIM phone, you can keep your regular number active for calls and SMS while using encryptSIM for mobile data. Your primary carrier must support service where you are traveling.

Calls and texts on your primary line remain subject to your carrier’s charges. Turning off data roaming does not prevent voice or SMS roaming charges. Check your carrier’s terms before traveling.

On iPhone

  1. Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data.
  2. Select your primary SIM and turn on the line.
  3. Return to Cellular and choose your primary SIM as the Default Voice Line.
  4. Select encryptSIM under Cellular Data or Mobile Data.
  5. Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching if you want to keep mobile data on encryptSIM.

On Samsung Galaxy

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
  2. Enable your primary SIM.
  3. Under Preferred SIMs, choose your primary SIM for Calls and Text messages.
  4. Choose encryptSIM for Mobile data. Review automatic data switching settings if available.

On Google Pixel

  1. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
  2. Enable your primary SIM.
  3. Choose your primary SIM for call and SMS preferences.
  4. Choose encryptSIM for mobile data and review automatic data switching settings.

Before you travel

Menu names and dual-SIM behavior vary by model and software version. Keep data roaming off on your primary line unless you intend to use that carrier’s roaming data. Follow your encryptSIM plan’s instructions for roaming on the encryptSIM line.

Receiving calls, SMS, and verification codes depends on your primary carrier and network coverage. A call on one line can affect availability of the other line, depending on your phone and carrier.
